Information about the insurance of Russian tourists traveling abroad
If the legislation of the country (place) of temporary residence establishes the requirements for providing guarantees for payment for medical care to persons temporarily staying on its territory, the tour operator (travel agent) is obliged to provide such guarantees. Travel insurance against sudden illness and accidents is the main form of providing such guarantees.
The insurance policy should provide for the payment of medical care to tourists and reimbursement of their expenses in the event of an insured event directly in the country (place) of temporary residence.
The insurance policy is issued in Russian and the state language of the country of temporary residence. At the request of the tourist, the tour operator (travel agent) assists in the provision of insurance services for other risks associated with the trip.

Article 14 or if there is a guarantee of an individual or legal entity inviting a citizen of the Russian Federation, to reimburse the costs of providing medical care (treatment in a medical organization) to a citizen of the Russian Federation.
If there are no documents listed in the first part of this article, the costs of providing medical care outside the territory of the Russian Federation shall be borne by the citizen himself.
Assistance in insured events to citizens of the Russian Federation staying on the territory of a foreign state is provided by a diplomatic mission or consular office of the Russian Federation in the manner established by the Government of the Russian Federation, unless otherwise provided by an international treaty of the Russian Federation with the relevant foreign state.
